With Durwood, Grodin welcomed his second child Nicholas Theodore Grodin who would later become a Hollywood star just like his famous dad. After a supporting role in the 1970 comedy film Catch-22, Grodin gained recognition as a comedy actor when he played the lead role in the 1972 film The Heartbreak Kid. With his second wife Elissa Durwood, he had a son, actor Nicholas Theodore Grodin. Furthermore, in 2013 Marion published a memoir entitled Standing Up: A Memoir Of A Funny (Not Always) Life, detailing her experiences with breast cancer, divorce, and being the daughter of a well-known actor.
